Smart flood control system is accelerating its construction: from unmanned aerial vehicle rain gauges to digital twin platforms
China's first unmanned deployment rain gauge "Rain God-1" was put into use in Sichuan, addressing the monitoring gap in areas prone to mountain floods. The equipment transmits data via the Beidou satellite and, after deployment, can autonomously level the rain gauge, achieving minute-level rainfall warning in uninhabited areas and directly connecting to the provincial disaster platform to enhance landslide and debris flow warning capabilities.
In the joint exercise in Wenzhou, the hydrogen tracer method quickly located the leak point of the pipeline, increasing the efficiency by 50% compared to traditional acoustic detection; in Handan City, the smart drainage platform integrated real-time data from 23 pumping stations and predicted water accumulation risks through meteorological warnings. Technology is driving the flood control process from passive response to a full-chain prevention and control approach of "forecasting-warning-rehearsal-plan".
